In celebration of the holiday season, CHANEL showcases the most precious interpretation of N°5 in its most exceptional form: 25 monumental hand-engraved, numbered bottles made of Baccarat crystal.

This creation was crafted entirely by hand using a special technique and a unique form of expertise. Remaining true to the original design, it is adorned with a white label and topped with a faceted emerald-cut stopper.

The House has used the art of baudruchage to seal bottles of Parfum since 1921, protecting the purity of the composition.

Paired with a Baccarat crystal applicator, the piece is nestled in a white dipped lambskin case. A treasure for the fragrance connoisseur.

In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel asked Ernest Beaux to develop a “woman’s perfume, with a woman’s scent.” The perfumer presented her with a visionary expression that made unprecedented use of aldehydes. Mademoiselle chose the fifth sample and decided to call it simply N°5. Its singular composition, along with the austerity of the name and flacon, revolutionized the history of fragrance and has gone on to achieve cult status.

COMPOSITION

N°5 Parfum represents the very essence of femininity. A floral bouquet composed of raw materials, including May rose, neroli and Grasse jasmine, accentuated by aldehydes, which lend the scent an abstract character.
